What are unions doing about health and safety at work?
Unions are actively campaigning for more worker participation in health and safety at work. Unions are also involved in training and supporting workplace health and safety reps.
In 2002 unions campaigned for better health and safety law. Now unions are getting behind a new campaign called Unions Talking Health and Safety.
Elected health and safety reps are key to the law working well. The CTU is co-ordinating the campaign to elect 10,000 health and safety reps.
The CTU is also working with ACC on iniatives such as this website and training programs to support health and safety reps.
Unions are able to support their members with resources and advice on health and safety in the workplace. By joining the union you can access this support, and help support your workmates in standing up for health and safety.
