Safeguard Awards 2010
Entries are now being called for the 2010 annual Safeguard Awards including the NZCTU sponsored "Most Influential Employee" award. 
We are very proud that to date all winners of this category have completed our Health and Safety Representative training, and we'd like to keep it that way!
So make sure that you nominate your Health and Safety Representative for all their hard work. Other categories include 'Best initiative to address a safety hazard, Health and Safety Practitioner of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award. The awards ceremony will be held on the 15th June 2010 in Auckland.
All entries must be received by 30th April 2010.

How to write your entry form
In your nomination describe the following;
1. What is the nominee’s role(s) within his or hers organisation? (include any health and safety responsibilities)
2. Why have you nominated this person? (include how he/she has made a difference, gone the extra mile,
demonstrated leadership or inspired others)
3. What is your relationship with the nominee and how have you been able to observe their performance or behaviour? .
Please note: Try and include one or two referees e.g. a Union Organiser/Delegate or Supervisor.
Also try and include a short endorsement of the nomination by other employees to show the Rep is well supported.
The judges will consider the following factors, how has the nominee…
A. Made a difference (how have his/her actions specifically benefited people?)
B. Exceeded expectations (to what extent has this nominee gone the extra mile?)
C. Inspired others (have they encouraged others to buy in to health and safety?)
