Health and Safety Rep Training
An important part of the rep's role is taking part in training to learn about the role and how to do the job effectively.
Health and Safety Rep Training
Unless your workplace's Employee Participation system has rights which are less than those under the default system under the Health and Safety in Employment Act, an employer must allow you, as the health and safety rep, two days paid leave each year to attend health and safety training approved by the ERE Advisory Committee.
This requirement is subject to maximum total number of days paid leave an employer is required to allow based on the total number of employees (see S19F of the Act).
This training leave is your legal entitlement as an elected health and safety rep, so you get to decide what course to attend.
Health and safety representative training is available all around the country at two day courses for reps from a range of industries.
